My Handbag Essentials

There are a few things that are always in my bag.

Popcorn crumbs, crisp crumbs, sandwich crumbs, chocolate crumbs, and maybe a couple of receipts from buying the food that eventually amounted to the crumbs.

Hahahahha, I kid, I kid.

I mean I don’t kid, but you know, there’s some actual worthwhile things squished into my bag too.

Okay, so this might be a little silly to feature but we are talking about fashion after all – I love switching up my handbag to suit my mood and outfit!

I rarely carry a small clutch bag, that’s more for an evening out as I tend to carry everything but the kitchen sink with me! Anything from lovely shoulder bags to cross-body bags…..if it’s cute and practical I love it! 🙂

I realised that the items in my everyday handbag always change based on what I am doing that day. However, I do have a few staples that remain constant in my bag no matter the occasion!

Hand Cream

My friends will always make fun of me for bringing hand cream, yet they always wind up asking for it later. I use The Body Shop’s Coconut Nourishing Body Butter to give my skin a dose of ultra-rich hydration! With the 48hr moisturising properties, my skin tends to stay softer for longer! You can buy it *here*!

I considered not putting this on the list, because it is so obvious.

Lip Balm

I usually bring a tinted lip balm for moisture and colour. The shade varies depending on the outfit, but my definite go-to is the Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balm in the shade ‘Cherry Me’ (you can buy it *here*) but I also like to carry my trusty Carmex Cherry Jar as well! This iconic medicated lip balm, that generations have relied on to soothe and protect dry/chapped lips, provides long-lasting protective barrier to help promote healing and glides on smoothly to help soften and hydrate lips with moisturising cocoa butter! You can buy this item *here*!

Obviously an essential if, you know, you want to do anything. I got a new purse from Pull & Bear recently and it’s totally the perfect size for all of your cards, coins and notes! I love the slim, black leather design and the Saffiano finish means it won’t get marked easily, either. Ideal!

Keys! I like to have it all on one ring – makes it much easier to find it. Also, coloured key covers help a lot – or you can DIY! I just used nail varnish to my colour the head of my key!

Perfume for me serves many roles–one being, obviously, to ensure I always smell nice. But more than that, there’s something about your favourite perfume can do wonders for your mood! It’s the perfect pick-me-up. My current favourite is the Ralph Lauren Big Pony 2 Eau de Toilette for her, you can buy it *here*!

I mean, you’ve gotta have tissues. Tissues come in handy not just for obvious reasons, but to aid in makeup malfunctions, comfort an emotional friend, for cleaning up the half-glass of wine you just spilled all over the table….

These items stay in whatever bag I am using for whatever purpose, and that is largely what’s in my handbag! Well, minus the crumbs, hair ties, grips, loose change and receipts; but we don’t need to be quite that honest now, do we…?
