My Travel Bucket List

There’s so many beautiful locations in the world that I’m itching to see. I’m fortunate enough to have seen a fair few locations (you can see my holiday vlogs on my YouTube channel which is linked below) but there’s still other destinations I have yet to tick off my bucket list. Hopefully, I can see the majority of these places before I’m 25 (just under 25 years). I love reading these posts and thought I would make one of my own, so here is my Travel Bucket List!

Bora Bora

I’d have to inherit a lot of money in order to afford a vacation to Bora Bora, but I can dream, right? This is my dream honeymoon destination. It’s so peaceful and romantic, absolute paradise. The scenery is postcard perfect, I can’t believe how blue the water is.

Just as stunning, and slightly more attainable, is the beautiful Maldives. Before I’d heard of Bora Bora, this was my ultimate honeymoon trip. I’d love to go to either and walk along the untouched white sands. It would be a dream come true to stay in an over the water bungalow and look out to the Indian Ocean. No destination says to me “this is all about that luxury and relaxation life, giiiirl” than the Maldives. With water so clear you can see to the bottom, I want to live out my Ariel goals – swimming and snorkelling with my new fish friends! The fact that you can stay in these insane ocean huts directly over the water blows my mind and it is somewhere I have always lusted over. If you do decide to make it to dry land, the Maldives is home to possibly the best beaches in the whole world – so yes, it’s definitely on my travel bucket list…permanently!

For the complete polar opposite, I have always wanted to go Lapland and visit the Santa Claus Village in Finland. It would be such a magical place to experience. Lapland comprises the northernmost part of Sweden and Finland, and it is a fascinating destination for all ages. Owing to its location above the Arctic Circle, this region is best known for its magical winter landscapes and northern lights as well as outdoor activities like dog-sledding, snowmobiling, ice fishing and reindeer sleigh rides.

Look, I am not a hiker or nature girl by any means, but I’d make an exception for Iceland. It just seems so serene, and absolutely gorgeous. The Northern Lights are a big draw for sure, but I’d also like to go to the Blue Lagoon Spa. The crystal ice cave in Skaftafell also looks amazing. Like I said, I’m not outdoorsy, but Iceland might convert me. Recently, Iceland has been on my radar and I’m desperate to see all the spectacular scenery. There’s so many activities and sights I’d like to do whilst there, it’s unlike any place I’ve ever been. I can see a short break to Reyjavik in my future (hopefully).

Would this be a bucket list without mentioning Paris? As well as beautiful buildings, this city plays hosts to Disneyland. Now I have actually been to Paris, but I was 14 and I feel like I didn’t appreciate the architecture and the city itself as much as I should have, so I want to go again and actually take in the breathtaking views and the city itself!

Thailand isn’t known as the “Land of Smiles” for nothing – heck, I’m smiling as I type just THINKING about going! I am constantly escaping to far flung shores in my mind, so I am drawn by the siren cry of Thailand. With its plethora of beaches, amazing food, rich culture, beautiful Buddhist temples and the lure of those infamous full moon parties – it has to be on my bucket list right?!

Los Angeles

Ever since I was a little girl, going to Los Angeles was a dream. All the celebrities I looked up to lived there and it seemed like everyone was always happy. I would visit all the touristy attractions whilst I’m there, including the infamous Hollywood sign.

Beverly Hills is one of Los Angeles most famous districts and it’s home to the famous zip code, 90210! Beverly Hills is a said to be a must when you visit LA and it is highly recommended you take a walking tour to see everything it has to offer. Learn about the value of homes in the area, do some celeb spotting and check out the Beverly Wilshire Hotel which was made famous in the iconic movie Pretty Woman!

New York

Who doesn’t want to go to New York? The city that never sleeps.  It’s been a dream of mine since I’ve been a little girl to go to this city. I hope to actually live there one day! It has so many landmarks like the Empire State building, Statue of Liberty, Times Square as well as the said to be stunning Central Park. I just think that it would be such an amazing feeling to wake up and see the stunning NYC skyline. The Big Apple would 110% be at the top of my bucket list, I’d especially love to go during the Christmas period as it just looks like a fairytale. Watching many films and tv shows featuring New York has meant this city has been on my bucket list for as long as I can remember. I’m so in awe at all the buildings and lights.

I have to say, until now Amsterdam never really appealed. I always associated it with nasty things and now that I’m a bit older I’m able to appreciate the views, architecture and heritage of the city instead. I think a large part of this is that my eyes have been opened since I started blogging – I’ve seen loads of blog posts about all of these beautiful places and I’d love see them. I’d love to go explore the city as it’s full of history and I’d love to visit the canals, Anne Frank house and the Keukenhof flower garden full of dutch tulips. I also love some of Holland’s traditional food like their stroop waffles are the best.

With crystal clear waters, untouched beaches, underwater wrecks and reefs, hidden lagoons and adventurous caves – this is a must-visit destination in 2018. Add to that more hidden treasures like the mystical island of Surigao and the UNESCO rice terraces of Banaue, and you call easily resign yourself here for an extended holiday to satisfy your thirst for adventure!

I feel like Portugal is a hidden gem that most people don’t think about traveling to when they head to Europe.  Although I can’t speak from experience, I feel like this country is often overlooked.  A few very trusty sources have said Lisbon & Faro are areas of Portugal well worth a visit.  Although the country as a whole isn’t doing well economically, there is a lot of beauty to be found there.  From surfing, eating delicious Portuguese food, visiting historical landmarks, and relaxing on the sandy beaches, Portugal has so much to offer. I’ve read that summer can be brutally hot, so it’s better to visit in the Spring or Fall. I don’t have any official plans yet to visit Portugal in 2018, but it’s in the works…

Yet another beautiful country that I believe is far too often overlooked.  Croatia offers a lot of the same activities that Portugal does, but with an entirely different culture.  From Roman ruins, National Parks with turquoise lakes, and the most beautiful beaches there really isn’t a reason not to visit Croatia.

I am SO excited to visit Canada one day. The aqua lakes, never ending forests, and proud standing mountains are what draws me to this beautiful country. I would adore to go hiking for weeks on end in numerous places of Canada such as Rocky Mountains, Banff National Park and Jasper National Park.

Bali is undoubtedly one of my favourite places on earth. The island has gained its reputation through its breathtaking beaches, unique culture, and amazing nature. If there is a more beautiful tropical paradise in this world than Bali, I would like to know about it.  This Indonesian island is stunning.  In addition to the beautiful beaches, it has some beautiful forested volcanic mountains to explore.  It is also home to the unique and amazing cliff-side Uluwatu Temple, which I very much want to see.  I would love to spend some time exploring and getting to know this amazing island!

You’re either surrounded by impressive mountains and serene lakes, or by charming towns and villages. Switzerland has some of the most incredible scenery in Europe, thanks to the majestic Swiss Alps. Even if you’re not skiing or hiking in the Alps, just looking at them is life changing enough. There are castles throughout all of Switzerland’s regions, and they’re all breathtaking. Visiting them is like being transported to a different time period. If castles and mountains weren’t enough, Switzerland also has incredible waterfalls.

Those are my ultimate destinations of choice. I would love to see the whole world and all the different cultures but had to narrow it down to my favourites. I want to experience various climates such as the ice cold temperatures in Finland and then the tropics of the Maldives. I hope you found this somewhat interesting and it helped you with ideas for your next holiday destination!

I hope you guys enjoyed this blog post, don’t forget to like and follow my blog! 💗

Now of course, I’d love to visit so many more places than this, the whole world if I can! Have you been to any of these places? Where in the world would your bucket list take you? Talk to me in the comments below! 🥰
