20 Positive New Year’s Resolutions For 2020

I wanted to start off this blog post by saying HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I can’t believe we’re starting a brand new decade – the roaring 20s! I hope everyone has had a lovely time ringing in their New Year with your loved ones!

Now, how do you feel about New Year’s Resolutions? I find it fairly easy to form positive habits, but I struggle to stick to resolutions that are too ambitious or vague!

“Exercise more” and “eat healthier” are two goals I’m always trying to action, yet both make terrible New Year’s Resolutions because they’re so open-ended and lack clear direction!

What are your New Year’s Resolutions? If you’re stuck for ideas, here are my 20 positive (and manageable) goals that I’ve set for myself for 2020…

Start each day by giving myself a compliment!

Give myself permission to say “no” to things that I don’t want to do!

Reconnect with an old friend from school or university!

Challenge myself to read one new book every month!

Satisfy my wanderlust and travel to a country or city I’ve never visited before!

Put money into a savings account every month – even if it’s only £10!

Schedule one relaxing, long-weekend for each quarter of the year!

Create an ‘achievement log’ and refer to it whenever my confidence takes a knock!

Spend more time with my BFFs, and less time online!

Support and compliment other women at every opportunity!

Start the gym (what a cliché) – but not putting pressure on myself to go 7 days a week, start off slow and go when it’s actually convenient for me and not when it’s ‘scheduled’ in my planner!

Take back my lunch break! – My work colleagues know how much of a workaholic I am, and I’m pretty sure that they’d love to see me actually take a break! So I plan to get my steps in by getting out of the building and going for a walk during my lunch!

Donate clothes that I don’t wear anymore – I used to keep smaller clothes as motivation to slim down and it’s clogging up my wardrobe!

Ease stress with kindness.. towards myself!

Drink more to stay hydrated – my partner is always having to remind me daily to drink more water and I feel like it’s time I take responsibility for my own water intake!

Walk more – having a car has made me realise how lazy I’ve become!

Take more photos to go into mine and Brad’s scrapbook! I can’t wait to look back at all of the memories we’ve made, I already enjoy looking back now!

Invest in my health – mental and physical!

Invest more time in my blog and pursing collaborations with companies that I believe in!

Practice gratitude!

Some ways to do this are:

  1. Love the new year resolutions, they’re definitely manageable. I agree with each point, especially #10. I always think of compliments but never seem to vocalise it. One of my goals is to communicate better this year. Great post dear, thanks for sharing.
